Anonymous asked: Why do you like Barnaby so much??

galiko:

Because he’s probably one of the strongest individuals I have ever seen: period, the end.

The guy goes through more in 26/27 years than most of us will ever go through in our lifetime - and thank god for that, because I seriously doubt most individuals could take witnessing the murder of their parents, having their house burned down, and having everything scooped out from beneath and away from them at the drop of a hat. I seriously doubt most people could keep going after that, let alone continue a 20 year long search to avenge them, to make things right in some way, no matter if it meant the sacrifice of everything one ever wanted to be or do for one’s self.

Everyone goes on and on about how selfish Barnaby is. He can be, to an extent, there is no doubt about it - but damn if he isn’t selfless when it comes to the memory of his parents.

The fact that he can still love after all of that is amazing to me. And I don’t care if you ship him with Kotetsu or think it’s just a bromance - there is love there either way. He loves Kotetsu. He cherishes him, wants to be by his side and be his partner (however you want to take that) for the rest of his life. It further proves that Barnaby is not just a broken commodity or a ‘drama queen’ - it’s that he is just a very sad, depressed person that needs to be healed and the fact he is still capable of being healed after everything else… amazing. Bloody proof of how strong he is.

And goddammit, he keeps on going after everything goes up in smoke, even after Maverick fucks him over again and takes everything from him again and the only time he ever gives up is when he thinks Kotetsu is gone and that’s the end of the line - and loving someone that much? Pretty damned admirable in my book.

Also, he’s hot. And intelligent. And relatable because he’s human and has flaws - his temper, anyone? His introverted personality, his awkwardness? The way his eyes light up when one person comes into the room - the person he loves? Tell me you can’t relate to that.

So yeah, that’s why.

just went to my stalking bookmark folder and reblogged this for perfect perfection (and a bit of creep) sob , I needed this on my blog so badly ;;
